First Farmer’s Market a Great Morning!

April 19, 2008

The first Dane County Farmer’s Market on the capitol square is winding down.  It was a beautiful morning!  Not all the booth spaces were taken as it’s still early for many of the typical offerings.  Baked goods, cheeses and meats seemed to be prevelant.

Some new offerings this year were Emu meat and LMNOPies has a stand with great baked goods.

New today seemed an unusually large amount of “buskers” performing either right on the inner square or across the street on the outer sidewalk.  Many were incredibly good.   It ranged from guitar players and singers to a small brass jazz band.  All in all making for a fun atmosphere.

If you’ve never been to one of Madison best traditions, you need to make a point of hitting the Dane County Farmer’s Market on a Saturday morning soon.  It is the largest producer only market in the country.  They don’t allow resale of any items so the person behind the table is typically the producer.

Another reason Central Madison Living is great!
